Anna and Colin's Classic Scottish Wedding

No matter how long I shoot weddings for, in locations all over the world with people from all walks of life, this one will go down as one of my all time favourites.

I've never known anyone to plan such an incredible wedding in the space of a few months, but if anyone deserved a day of their dreams to celebrate with their closest friends and family then it would be these two. From the moment they contacted me and after our first Zoom meeting I knew the day was going to be special and that I'd be working with the loveliest pair imaginable.

"My fiancé initially contacted another photographer who didn’t have availability for our date, but sent us a link to Tom’s site and recommended him. That was us, sold immediately, and we'll be forever glad our paths crossed like this".

“Hire Tom as your wedding photographer. You’ve got plenty of other decisions to fret over... Just take our recommendation, and thank us later!”

The Details

Anna wore a beautiful yet minimalist dress by Bibi Luxe paired effortlessly with Colin's three-piece suit and kilt combo. The gorgeous flower arrangement was by Sprig and Thistle and the band; A Hot Minute, closed off the night.

Wedding venues in the North-East offer a range of options, from the French holiday villa vibe of Le Petit Chateau to the rustic aesthetics of Healey Barn. But as classic historic mansions go, Shortflatt Tower is the one. You'll be hard pushed to find an estate with as much charm as this Belsay 13th century tower, with 15 bedrooms overlooking the Northumberland countryside and an annex with 5 more luxury en-suite bedrooms providing ample room for a small wedding party to stay overnight. As I scouted out the venue in the morning I knew I wasn't going to be short of photo opportunities, as the tower provided unrivaled backdrops at every turn.

“Before the wedding, Tom asked the right questions and listened carefully to what we wanted from the photos. His organisation and communication were meticulous. On the day his presence was subtle and friendly making everyone feel really at ease.”

These Guys!

Anna and Colin contacted me with around 3 months to go until their wedding. Planning in such a short time with the help of Victoria Carr was a feat within itself, but to pull off such an amazing day was nothing short of incredible. From the first Zoom call together it was clear that Anna, Colin and I shared the same vision for wedding photography; natural, unposed and a true reflection of the day.

When the wedding came around, everything I knew about these two from our calls translated into real life. Their focus was on their family and friends, and each other. A real, authentic connection like this is the perfect setting for me to work, where I'm purely documenting the events and moments happening before me. You don't need to worry what you look like on camera and how to pose when you're unapologetically being yourselves and trust me to capture that.

"The photos are next level - so unbelievably good"

The Review.

His organisation and communication were meticulous. On the day his presence was subtle and friendly making everyone feel really at ease.

He was also incredibly adaptable. At our wedding, lots of it ran behind schedule, so Tom ended up having to stay a second night up north - which he did without hesitation - all to make sure we got the photos we’d wanted.

"We honestly can’t sing Tom's praises highly enough. The photos are next level - so unbelievably good. Every time we look at them; the whole day comes flooding back to us. Everyone who has seen them is just blown away by the quality.
